The Former President of the Republic of South Africa who was unonimously elected Patron of the Forum for Former Heads of State and Government above following a brief ceremony on the occasion of the signing of the Declaration establishing the Africa Forum. The Forum was formely inaugurated on 11 January 2006 in Maputo the Republic of Mozambique. Present at the ceremony was: His Excellency Mr. Joaquim Alberto Chissano, Former President of the Republic of Mozambique and Chairman of the Forum. Also present was the Executive Secretary of Africa Forum Dr. John A.Tesha.

The Second Meeting of the General Assembly of the Forum for Former African Heads of State and Government and other African leaders will be convened at the Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg, the Republic of South Africa from 31 October to 02 November 2006. The 3rd Meeting of Personal Representatives of the Former Heads of State and Governement will preceed the 2nd Meeting of the General Assembly from 28-30 October 2006.
